What does “zero-knowledge” actually mean?
It means the system is built so that we, as the service provider, are never able to read your backups — not by accident, not on request. Encryption and decryption only ever happen on your own machine, with a key only you hold. Even if our servers were compromised, your data would stay unreadable.

Is my data encrypted?
Yes. Backups are sealed on your server with age (X25519, ChaCha20-Poly1305) before anything is transferred.
What does “zero-knowledge” mean?
It means we never have access to your unencrypted data or your encryption key. Everything is encrypted on your server with age before it leaves, so only you can read your backups.
Can I back up multiple servers?
Yes.
What kind of server do I need?
A server you control (a VPS, a dedicated server, or your own machine) where you can install the agent. Shared hosting plans that don't let you run a background program are not supported.
Where are my backups stored?
Two options. By default, in rlbk's managed encrypted storage, included in your plan and replicated across providers. Or connect your own S3-compatible bucket (BYOS) so your data stays with the provider you choose. Either way, everything is encrypted on your server before it leaves.
